About The Program

Where do young people usually get their sex education? Much of their information comes from a mixture of embarrassed parents, boring health classes, social media and porn. Add to that the misinformation students pass among themselves and the result is a dangerous concoction of half-truths and virtually no understanding of what consent means or looks like.

"Take Care of Your Privates"

In a funny, engaging, and interactive discussion, Dr. Joni and Esther talk about how to navigate intimate relationships and enjoy sexual exploration in the college environment with responsibility and safety.

Each talk is different: customized for your student body’s specific needs, answering the tough questions posed by your students, and always inclusive of all genders and sexual orientations. And we pack the house!

Learning Objectives

Naturally, as an educational organization, you’ll have some questions about what we will be presenting. Our sex education talks are based on a series of basic learning objectives, which are as follows. We want students to:

  • Gain insight as to how people are currently learning about sex and relationships.
  • Develop an understanding of the Four Pillars of Healthy Relationships.
  • Develop a full understanding of male and female anatomy as it pertains to sexual health and response.
  • Gain a clear understanding about consent, alcohol and consent, Title IX, and how to prevent sexual violence.
  • Become an expert at negotiating consent using the Pre-Sex Talk.
  • Learn all safer sex techniques and create their own preparedness strategy for sexual encounters.
  • Understand and embrace their sexuality.
  • Become comfortable sharing intimate information with a partner, and creating a plan for communicating how they experience pleasure, their current health status, and any other pertinent information.
  • Develop an understanding about the fluidity of sexual orientation and gender identity, including how to connect with marginalized members of their campus community.
  • Become more confident and self aware when making relationship choices.

“Sex Ed Boot Camp has been one of the best and most well received sexual health programs we have offered on FAMU’s campus.

Joni and Esther offer an exceptional program that is factual, powerful, and engaging. They work with our staff to ensure that the program presented meets identified campus needs then…POW!!! I have students tweeting for the next several weeks about things they learned in the program. We also see an increase in the number of students that visit the clinic for consultations, STD and HIV testing after a campus visit from Sex Ed Boot Camp. We have had Esther and Joni on campus for several years now and their reception get bigger and better each year. We schedule their program to kick off our month long sexual health initiative targeting incoming freshmen. We love to have them back each year.”
